Can every flat tyre in SW12 be repaired on the street?

No. A repair in SW12 is only suitable when the damage is in the central tread and the tyre can come off the wheel for an internal patch. Sidewall cuts in Thornton are replacements.

Does SW12 mean you will arrive in a fixed number of minutes?

No. Traffic in south-west London, and how far the technician has to travel, set the time for SW12. We tell you that time before you accept it.

What should I say when I call from SW12?

Say the street in Thornton, the code SW12, what the tyre looks like, and whether you have the locking wheel nut key. A photo helps if you can take one safely.

Mobile tyre fitting in Thornton

For a vehicle in Thornton, call with the postcode in SW12, the registration, and what the tyre looks like. Cars and light vans. The price is agreed before work starts.

What SW12 refers to

SW12 is in south-west London. SW runs from Victoria and Chelsea through Clapham and Wandsworth to Wimbledon and Kingston's London edge. Controlled parking zones are common.

If the car is in SW12, you may be in Balham (SW12) rather than Thornton. Give the street.

Tread or sidewall in Thornton

A nail in the central tread can often be repaired once the tyre is off the wheel. A cut, bubble, or cord in the sidewall cannot. That rule does not change because the car is in Thornton. If you can see the damage from a safe place, describe it. SW12 only tells us where to drive. The tyre decides the repair.

Car parks and barriers in Thornton

Multi-storey car parks in Thornton often fail on height, on the slope of the ramp, or on a ban on working in the bay. A street outside is frequently the better workshop. Mention the barrier height when you book SW12. We would rather change the pin than arrive and turn around.

After the wheel goes back on

When the job in Thornton is finished, the wheel nuts are tightened and the pressure is set. You should be able to drive. If the tyre was replaced, keep the old one only if you want it. We do not leave a patched sidewall in service. Any warning light still on after a SW12 repair is a reason to call back before a long trip.

Booking Thornton

School-run traffic changes the Thornton arrival even when the postcode stays the same. A space-saver already fitted in Thornton does not end the need for a proper tyre. Stay with the car in Thornton so the technician can identify it. Height barriers on car parks in Thornton stop some vans.
